In a career spanning 30 years, Joël Antunes has worked with the world’s culinary “Who’s Who” including Troisgros, Bocuse, Meneau, Maximin and Duquesnoy in his native France. At The Normandie restaurant in The Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok he earned nominations for the best restaurant in Asia.

He opened his Michelin star restaurant Les Saveurs in London and was nominated best restaurant in the UK. He then moved to the United States where he earned 5 Stars with the Mobile guide at The Dining Room in The Ritz Carlton in Atlanta.

This was followed by his James Beard awarded eponymous venture, Joël’s, also in Atlanta. But now the question inevitably arises, “Little Rock, Arkansas?”

"I am extremely excited to be returning to the United States and to the South, in particular, where my wife and I feel very much at home,” said Antunes. “When people work for me in the kitchen, I want harmony. I want something very smooth. I don’t want to stress because when people are stressed, they don’t work very well. When you’re well organized, it is easy,” he added. “The team of professional culinarians at Ashley’s are extraordinary, and I look forward to the inspiration I will doubtlessly receive from them and from the wonderful selection of local, fresh ingredients that is available in Arkansas and throughout the region.”
